Yokota Middle School Reflects on First Quarter, Looks Ahead
Yokota Middle School recently wrapped up its first quarter with grade-level recap sessions designed to celebrate achievements, acknowledge challenges, and reset expectations for the months ahead. Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 gathered with teachers and administrators to reflect on their progress and refresh their understanding of the student handbook.
Sixth graders embraced the transition into middle school, 7th graders adjusted to their increased academic responsibilities, and 8th graders showed leadership across the school. Many students demonstrated growth in organizational skills and time management. Principal Dr. Quiana Obeng emphasized the importance of consistent homework routines and self-advocacy. Students were reminded to use planners effectively and to lean on support systems when needed.
Across all grade levels, Dr. Q. emphasized the importance of the student handbook as a guide for behavior, responsibility, and community values. Students revisited policies on respect, digital citizenship, and academic integrity to ensure a strong start to the second quarter.
Yokota Middle staff expressed pride in the collective progress while reminding students that each quarter is an opportunity to reset, refocus, and rise to new challenges.
The first quarter recap highlighted not only academic growth but also the development of character and community. With refreshed expectations and a renewed commitment to excellence, students are poised for success in the second quarter.
